CO-CREATIONS
This is the aspect of my jewelry journey offering wonderful surprises!! Together, you and I create a unique necklace. The stories below illustrate this process:
Dominika in Springfield, VA found my website, and emailed a request for an All Around design I called Pink Heart. She loved the idea of selecting each element and wanted to include the letters “K” “E” “N” — her husband’s name. A few emails and photos later, the necklace was complete!! Surrendering the package one Saturday morning to the postman, I couldn’t help but smile as I noted his nameplate read “KEN”. Of course, he heard the story of the special item on its way to VA
It arrived safely in two days!
Cliff presented his wife Debi with a gift certificate for her birthday for a co-created necklace. They live nearby and I arrived at her house with my basket full of possibilities!!! After three hours we were 90% complete. Debi actually constructed some of the elements and added others that were longtime keepsakes from her jewelry box. Soon a deity medallion and beads from a trip to India were incorporated into the design. Two metal tags acquired decades apart were paired up – creating a powerful message. The first, an ID issued by the US gov’t in 1956 (when a very young Debi lived in Titusville, FL) was a dog tag. A few years ago, at an art show, Debi purchased a metal tag stamped “Survivor”. These items found each other in the bottom of her jewelry box proclaiming her status as a “Survivor” (of the Cuban Missle Crisis
. We had a hearty laugh over this evocative duo. The toggle claims proclaims “WISDOM”!
Donovan, a retiree seeking a unique gift for his soon-to-be daughter-in-law stumbled upon my website. He described the couple as outdoorsy – hiking, sailing, swimming, biking. He promptly emailed a few photos along with the story of the proposal. They were out in the Pacific ocean that afternoon and as Jon proposed to Jen, a whale breached very close to them!! This story was the inspiration to create a keychain for Jon, to match Jen’s necklace and anklet. The same coral and silver elements are used for all three pieces – with the addition of a whale charm on the keychain!!
Sandy loves jewelry and accessories. Her mantra is “abundance in all things.” Sandy embraces this philosophy in HER co-created necklace. There was such joy in creating it.
Sandy also wanted something unique for her best friend’s birthday. Together we designed Rachel’s Buddha Necklace. It was to be a sophisticated piece – not too busy – that Rachel could wear comfortably. This necklace can actually be worn two ways, either displaying Buddha or the large decorative closure ;-D
We are only limited by our imagination!! It would be my honor to join you in creating a unique piece of jewelry.
